CDR Christine Brashear relieves CDR Lee Ann Singleton as Commanding Officer, Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC Pittsburgh)
HRV President H. Rochelle Stachel recently represented the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (PAACC) Military Relations Committee (MRC) at a Change of Command ceremony, at which Commander Lee Ann Singleton formally relinquished command of the Navy Operational Support Center, Pittsburgh, to incoming Commander Christine Brashear.
“The observance of this important ceremony reinforces my longstanding commitment to our military partners in the Pittsburgh region,” said Rochelle. “The strength of character and leadership demonstrated by Commander Singleton and Commander Brashear speaks volumes on the military’s effective succession process and the future of our nation’s military. On behalf of the MRC, I would like to welcome Commander Brashear to the region, and thank Commander Singleton for her service and dedication to NOSC Pittsburgh.”
Commander Singleton’s many active duty career achievements include earning Naval Flight Officer Wings, deployment on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy and U.S.S. George Washington, serving as flight instructor for Naval Flight Officers, and being named Academic Instructor of the Year for Training Wing 6. Commander Singleton received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and numerous unit awards. She is a graduate of Purdue University (BS Aviation Administration) and the University of Minnesota (MA Human Resources-Industrial Relations.
Commander Brashear graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, and subsequently served on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima’s commissioning crew, completing that vessel’s maiden active deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf. She went on to earn her Master’s in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, CA). Commander Brashear’s numerous assignments include serving on the U.S.S. Winston S. Churchill, Force Information Assurance Officer for the Commander Naval Reserve Forces Command, Deputy Director of the Fleet Personnel Programs, and Executive Officer for the Expeditionary Readiness Combat Center. She has received the Naval Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award.
Captain John Molinari, Commander, Navy Reserve Forces, Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes presided over the Change of Command ceremony, which was held at the 911th Airlift Wing in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
