The Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (PAACC) recently honored HRV President H. Rochelle Stachel with the 2019 Distinguished Service Award for her longstanding commitment to PAACC, her strong support of the economic development of regional Pittsburgh Airport community, and her sincere efforts to assist the region’s military community. PAACC Board Chair Jonathan Potts and Executive Director Michelle Kreutzer presented the award at the PAACC’s Annual Celebration of Excellence, which included the Chairman’s Inauguration, awards and recognition, and Robert Morris University President Dr. Chris Howard as keynote speaker.
“The PAACC is so fortunate to have Rochelle deeply involved as a dedicated pioneer for the engineering and airport area business community,” said PAACC President and CEO Chris Heck. “She is one of those unique individuals whose passion and support for the growth and well-being of the Pittsburgh Airport region stops at nothing. Her legacy of support for our local military partners speaks for itself—her commitment to the region’s future is a chapter that she continues to write. This is a well-deserved honor, and one that the PAACC is most proud to bestow.”
A longtime active PAACC member, Rochelle she serves on the Executive Committee as Vice Chair/Military Liaison, co-chair for the Military Relations Committee, and is a member of the Honorary Commanders Committee. As Chair of Southwestern PA ESGR (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserves), Rochelle promotes veteran, guard and reserve employment, provides mediation, and helps to educate employers on the laws and regulations of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994.
“I was both completely surprised and humbly honored by the award,” said Stachel. “There are so many well-deserving members who contribute their time, talents and resources to PAACC’s mission, vision and advocacy of the Airport region. To be recognized among my peers is to also recognize that our progress and successes are not achieved in a vacuum—it requires collaboration, coordination and most importantly, intense participation from all PAACC members.”
Through a unified voice for opportunity and growth in the greater airport area, PAACC provides resources and information to advance and maximize economic vitality through advocacy, education and networking to its members and the regional business community.
